Full remote Pan/Tilt/Zoom capability in a small weatherproof enclosed space!,
Mounting the camera requires you to remove three bolts and disconnect the dome. A unique hex wrench is provided to help with removal of the bolts. The base was placed underneath a board about 16’ in the air and then secured in position with three wood screws that were provided in the kit. Finally, the dome cover was place back into place.
The camera has a web interface for operation without the Q-See NVR but it is very hard to use. Within the NVR, the camera responds rapidly to input. You have the ability to control the Pan, Tilt, Zoom, Focus and Iris functions of this IP camera. Q-See NVR software also offers a tour capability that will set the camera to automatically shift focus and go viewing angle from one location to another.
The optics or image quality that this particular Q-See IP camera offers is very excellent. Low light recordings have caught several animals in the warehouse. The two photos attached to this review show the zoom range of the camera.
I highly recommend this manufactured goods for its specific attention in a home or office surveillance logic even as connected to a Q-See NVR.

Workings Fantastic,
Mine didn’t come with a manual but it came with a cd that pretty much covers everything, though I would have preferred a manual. That is just a small issue overall since I had a friend install this for me.
The quality of the imaging is fantastic. I had this instaled just above my garage. It’s coverage is perfect. I especially like the pan and tilt option. Whether my porch lights are on or off, I can see everything perfectly.
Though I don’t live in a high crime area, this really brings a peace of mind, which is really vital to me

An exceptional camera with a rock solid 1080p stream let down by poor software,
Installation is simple – you use the included template to find your location, unscrew three hex screws, then remove the top off the camera. Sadly, here is no separate mounting plate, so when you open the top, the entire inside of the camera is exposed. It would have been better to have designed a mounting plate so you don’t come face to face with the inside. This also means you need to be very careful to install in dry weather, and to screw it shut correctly when done to prevent moisture getting inside the camera.
Connections come from a power plug and Ethernet jack, though it does support PoE, which sadly means the power plug is then left unused (and dangling) with no included hardware to close it off. Again, in a perfect world, PoE support would mean you could remove or hide the power cable.
This brings us to the software – which is a complete trainwreck of poorly translated stuff with terribly documented features. I could easily detect the camera using the config software, but the NVR app (SmartPSS) is horrible.
Thankfully, I was able to add it to BlueIris and use it here, though in BlueIris, I can’t get the PTZ to work as it appears to be a newer age group Dahua PTZ protocol (yes, Q-See is owned by Dahua/Hikvision).
Once in BlueIris, the camera is incredible. I get a rock solid 1080p stream with 30fps. At night, the camera is incredible sensitive.
PTZ is quick and the zoom lens is exceptional going from very wide to really close.
All in all, a fantastic camera, at a pretty decent price for 1080p PTZ, but one you’ll most likely need to invest more in to replace the software.
