Very Disappointed – Missing Features From Older QT Logic, May 8, 2015
    By
    E (Philly Burbs, PA) –

VERY disappointed in this logic. I replaced my ancient analog QT logic with the QC8116 NVR. Aside from the numerous complaints about the overall size and fan blast of the NVR, which I can live with, here are many features I lost between the QT & QC.

The first is the fact that upon motion, you can no longer email 3 picture attachments – only 1. With most emails I receive upon motion, I miss the theme causing motion because the picture is usually taken too late.

The second is the fact that here appears to be a hard-coded timeout of 3 minutes between emails upon motion. So if motion is triggered, you won’t get any more emails on motion for 3 minutes – potentially missing further motion.

The iOS app for remote viewing is much less intuitive to use, pet views do not seem to work properly, viewing motion only events doesn’t work, etc.

Using the built-in remote viewing via a web browser or the PSS software also is horrible when trying to view motion events. The ancient logic would list out in a table view of all motion events, allowing you to view any of them instantly. The new one doesn’t allocate you to jump between motion easily.

Overall I’m VERY disappointed I spent the extra money to change from the QT to the QC series. Tech support, when you can get a hold of them or when they call back, is off shore and next to useless. I even allowable them to in the least connect to my NVR to troubleshoot, but they couldn’t fix my issues. Once they had a successful login, they either stayed logged in or tried logging in days later (after they determined here was nothing they could do). When they complained when they couldn’t connect (because I revoked their access), I clarified I wasn’t maintenance this account open indefinitely for them.

Now I need to choose if I wait and see if they ever fix these shortcomings or shop for a new logic from another vendor.

so far so excellent, March 31, 2015
    By

This review is from: Q-See QCN8025Z High Classification IP Pan Tilt Zoom Camera (White) (Electronics)
I bought this through costco.com. I paid $499 plus tax free shipping. Ordered Friday night, recieved Monday afternoon.

Plugged everything in, and couldn’t get it connected online. I went through costco concierge, and we found out the supplied ethernet cable was a dud, luckily I had a spare which instantly fixed the issue and I was online. I got an email next morning from q see saying replacement cable was on the way.

Image quite decent for the price. I’m pleased with the manufactured goods so far I left it on overnight setup in the livingroom. Everything still facility. I have it directly connected to a tv. Desktop is connected through net work. And several smartphones aswell. If I come up with any issues, I’ll be sure to update the review. But so far so excellent. Minus the small ethernet cable hiccup.

defective out of the box, useless tech support, January 29, 2015
    By

    Verified Hold(What’s this?)
After days of emailing tech support at Qsee I finally gave up on their tech support to fix a defective NVR that I originally received. They questioned me to take a survey, and this was my letter to them:
“My NVR wouldn’t get past the loading screen; after over an hour on the phone with somebody who was incredibly hard to know and who also did not know what I was saying, followed by days of emails, I gave up and contacted the seller everywhere I bought the NVR and he sent me a new one. Additionally, the “engineer” at Q-see said here was nothing incorrect with the NVR and it must be my tv or hdmi cable, when in fact it was a defective manufactured goods in the end. I will likely never hold anything from Q-see again, not only because the very first NVR I bought failed instantly (a $1700 manufactured goods) but also because tech support is completely useless. I’m supposed to warranty this manufactured goods, and it scares me to reckon of how poorly it is manufactured. I really reckon I made a mistake buying your products.”
