This is a review of the 8 camera QSee security logic. The packaging of the hardware is first rate. Subsequent the quick initiation guide had the logic up and running in very small time. The quick initiation guide is O.K. for getting the logic up and running but it does not address what is to be done with the additional wires and connections that are attached to the camera’s. They function fine with the single supplied cable but. I am ancient and I respond best to more detailed printed directions and would rather have to much information than a minimal amount. Working for 40 years in the engineering field has probably spoiled me.

It is packaged well, it fired right up, all the camera’s work and the mouse and software are pretty simple to map out once you initiation poking around with the various options. This is one of the most hard reviews I have ever done, as I have nothing to equate it to. I pulled it out of the box and it facility exactly like it is supposed to. The small cable for the router connection kind of limits everywhere the “box” can be placed, I need to use a longer one for my permanent install due to the location of my router. That is not a huge deal. Threading 800 foot of video cable to the camera’s even as maintenance it protected and out of site is a bit of a challenge but is a necessary part of the install with any wired logic. I used the HDMI cable to connect it to a 26 inch monitor and the picture quality is very excellent. I would give this unit a solid 5 star rating. I have never installed anything like this before so perhaps I am easily impressed. Other than the absence of a thick printed in commission and installation manual here is nothing to not like about it.

It is not a huge deal but my unit does not have the switch shown in the quick initiation guide. When I shut it down using the mouse and it tells me I can turn it off I have no way to do so. I have to pull the 12 and 48 volt plugs from the back of the unit because I can’t reach the switch on the UPS unit from the location of the unit. An on/off switch would be nice.

This will be the first surveillance logic I’ve owned, and certainly the first I’ve installed. Really much simpler than I thought it would be. Placement of the cameras is simple, I place four outside and four inside my house. Here are two ways to power them. Running hundreds of feet of cable (included, 800 feet in all), or what’s called Power Over Ethernet in the least. You will need to buy an adapter not included if you want to go that route, not pricey, but worth it. That is what I used. Here is an simple installation guide which is really simple to follow, especially for a novice like me. Took about 4 hours for me to set everything up, by myself. Facility like a charm.

You can set the DVR up to your TV, a monitor, all it needs is an HDMI cord (included), or VGA (not included). I also like how you can check your logic through your phone and even get motion detection alerts. Too cool. As for the camera quality, top notch. You can get some seriously clear pledge, even at night. And here is quite a distance on the night vision too. About 100 feet for the bullets and 80 for the domes. Excellent, rugged durability as well. I’m surprised at how simple this was to set up having to kind of training, but you just need basic tools and a ladder pretty much. Exceptional set, this is a company I will certainly look toward for surveillance needs in the future.

Crystal clear view from these cameras. They are simple to install (either with the included cables or over IP with a purchasable add-on). This set gives ridiculous coverage around my home. Every angle is covered and no blind spots exist at all. I like being able to combine domes with bullets since each one has their own advantage depending upon location. I cannot judge the clarity. Even at night the images are perfect. Like the fact that you can view this off your phone over the internet. Storage space is far more than you are likely to need (2T). I really need to reiterate that installation is a breeze. If you are even in the least Tech/AV savvy then you will not have any tribulations. Besides, why would you want a weirder installing your security logic? You don’t want anyone to know what you can see. This is a right top-end set for this price-point. This bundle has about everything you could need.

Metal housings, not cheap plastic. You know that when it is installed/mounted that these terrible boys are not going anywhere! I judge this logic is also expandable, though I have not tried nor do I have a need for that as of yet. 1080p? Do you really need any privileged clarity? Likely not. Customizable alerts also make this a unique logic. Never worry about what you might be missing. Can’t go incorrect here!
