Software is utter crap,
The software on the other hand: __ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE__. The only way to configure the camera is to log into a web interface through an ancient version of Internet Explorer (IE8 or older) which will install an ActiveX control. That ActiveX crashes on newer versions of Windows and IE. Due to the fact that the ActiveX control uses hardware acceleration it will crash unless you run that older version of Windows using an ancient version of IE on an actual corporal machine with a proper graphics driver. A VM does not work (VMWare, VirtualBox etc.), the ActiveX control will crash and burn. What idiot thought it was a excellent thought to make an ActiveX control the only way to configure the camera?!
Oh, and of course the default admin password is not mentioned ANYWHERE in the documentation. It’s ‘123456’.
The main control software requires a screen larger than 1024×768. Here is absolutely no reason for that. And it crashes constantly. Software on paper by idiots and COMPLETELY UNMAINTAINED. I recommend using BlueIris instead and not using any built-in functions of the camera. Make sure you set the admin password to ‘123456’ in BlueIris otherwise it won’t detect it.
I can only take upon yourself that the other Q-See camera use the same software. Avoid it like the plague.
