Does not zoom, no night vision. Listing is fake,
It would have cost me more to have my installer remove it and send it back, and install a new one, than it was to just keep it. So that’s what I did. I am not pleased at all, but what can you do?

A PTZ camera with many programmable options,
I like what the camera can do but I feel the multitude of configuration options may not be suited to a homeowner looking for a turnkey solution. The pledge is as expected but the fact that one can control the direction of the lens is an obvious advantage. 360-Degree horizontal rotation and a 90-Degree tilt are the advertised features but depending on your DVR in commission logic, you must be able to nearly infinitely program this camera to boot up in a particular direction, run video scans of the monitored background with programmed cruise options.
This unit comes with a 2-year warranty, but, I can’t attest to Q-See’s customer service when handling warranty. They have brand presence in the huge box stores and this is not my first Q-See manufactured goods I was able to review. Pretty detailed setup manual. No major issues with the installation and only wish would be for some night vision.

You must know what this camera has as well as what it lacks,
Unfortunately, the erroneous spec is an vital one. The category of security cameras can be divided into two broad sub-categories … cameras that will be manually operated by security personnel in a live surveillance background; and cameras that will be used 24/7 to monitor an unattended background. This difference is vital because in the first instance it is commonly assumed that the background being viewed will be under “people conditions”, in other words some place like a fully-lit retail store, workplace, storage area, etc. The operator would have control of the camera and would manually pan, tilt and zoom as needed to detect suspicious activity. This camera does not have a zoom function. A surveillance camera that doesn’t zoom is significantly less effective for its intended use because by design a PTZ camera is intended for live monitoring and if the operator cant zoom in on the action they are left at a severe disadvantage. This is something that needs to be carefully considered by the customer noting that here ARE situations in which panning and sloping would be the only movement necessary, perhaps as in monitoring a cash register. Given the option, but, adding zoom for the nominal cost is well worth it.
On the other hand, security cameras intended for 24/7 monitoring are commonly unattended, which negates the need for pan, tilt or zoom. These cameras are usually fix-mounted and attached to a recording and/or clock radio logic. Being unattended, here is no need to control the movement of the camera.
The other (in our opinion) significant drawback to this camera is that it has no IR illuminators, in other words, no night vision capabilities. Going back to the first scenario, most PTZ cameras that are controlled by security personnel are used in store-lit conditions and low-light capability isn’t vital. But a security camera that can’t be used at night has virtually no value as a 24/7 security camera as it must be used in daytime-only live monitoring.
Knowing upfront that this camera does not have zoom capability nor does it have night vision puts it in the category of being a limited attention device. For someone who is looking for a daylight-only camera that can pan and tilt but not zoom they will find that the quality of construction and image quality of this camera are a bit above average (Q-See has built a decent reputation for that), and they will find that the price is reasonable but a bit privileged than some competitive models.
Because it does what it is intended to do, and does it well it earns a positive rating IF you don’t need zoom or night-vision. It’s not significantly better than other brands that offer the same features, often for less money, and therefore the final rating is “I like it”, which Amazon defines as 4-stars.
