Excellent design,
1. The ActiveX control does not work right on Windows 7 64 bit. The fix is to disable uac feature which is sorry. I won’t do that. The Multiclient program facility well but but is hard to use without help from the support page which is very well on paper.
2. Backup is dreadful. To get more than one file at a time means access to the DVR with a USB drive. And then you get to select them 6 at a time. Remote download allows only one file at a time, unbelievable.
3. When I plug a cable into the video/audio out connectors, the other end must be plugged into the TV to get it to work. If disconnected from the TV, recording and live feed functions stop. They initiation again as soon as the cable is connected (TV may be on or off)
4. Many settings are available via remote, but not all even in admin mode. Those available work fine.
5. The hard drive installation requires cover removal – must be quick slide-in from front, back or side. I was able to install 1 T and it facility well.
This manufactured goods is based on an OEM manufactured goods which is the same as used in the LTS products. Both of them have the same quirks. Some of the tribulations from the LTS DVR have been fixed like my ancient LTS DVR said that it would take up to 1 T drive but it would not work with any HDD larger than 500 G. This one facility with 1 T and says it will work up to 2 T. The ActiveX control is different between the two DVRs but the new one is different and now the ancient one no longer facility. But, the MultiClient program facility with both DVRs on my Windows 7 64 bit machine. And it is a much better program – unfortunately backup is still only one file at a time.
All-in-all the machine is very excellent for surveillance and nanny-cam duties. I rated it only 4 star because they did not fix these backup and remote usage issues.

JUNK,
Unit stopped working after 1 month. It feels cheap and it is made that way. Qsee in general makes cheap products but you really get what you pay for.
